Miranda decided to become a veterinary technician not only for her love of animals, but her desire to help. Helpful is exactly what Miranda is! She graduated from SUNY Canton in 1999 and has been with the Animal Ark ever since. She knows the hospital inside and out and is responsible for most of the inventory control. Every day is different at the Animal Ark and that is one of the things Miranda enjoys the most. Quick with questions and always looking to learn keeps Miranda an integral part of the health care team. As matriarch of our nursing staff she is frequently approached for her seasoned skills. The years of working with Dr. Spindel have broadened her ability to support treatment of all creatures great and small. Few technicians display the medical or artistic skills required to provide anesthesia for high risk patients that Miranda does. That translates into successful surgical recovery time after time, no easy feat when dealing with sugar gliders, critically ill dogs and cats, chimpanzees and tigers. When not working with the pets, she is working with their families to keep them informed, answer questions and assist. At home Miranda is busy with her two beautiful daughters, husband, cat “Oliver”, dog “Bella” and gold fish “Stubby”.
